    wwf No mercy flickering

I originally had the problem with the text being black on black speech bubbles but by searching these forums I found a solution by downloading and using rices video plugin. The game runs almost perfectly now except for the flickering. In 1 v 1 matches it happens very rarely and only when both people are outside the ring. By setting up rice video using pixel shader it reduced the single match flickers to practically 0.

However it's tag matches that are the problem. With everyone in the ring it's fine but when people are outside of the ring, either all or some in some out, there's a lot of flickering. It's still playable but it's annoying. Has anyone found a definite solution to the flickering?

    My system specs are:

    Sempron 2800
    512 mb ram
    Geforce FX 5900ZT
    running on windows 2k

Download PJ64 1.6 and then play it using the default graphics plugin (Jabos D3D8) should work a treat on your system and it plays No Mercy perfectly.

Rices is an excellent plugin, but it tends to require tweaking quite often dependent on the game, graphics card used and often driver revision you are using.

Okay I did as you said and Jabos D3D8 worked a little better. The writing was visible and everything worked but still getting flickering in tag matches. It seems to be less flickering but it's not gone completely. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance

The flickering happens in tag matches, not sure why must be the plugins. I use Unoffical Daedulus (sp) and it works fine, no flickering, only problem is the plugin's outdated.

Ok the flickering is gone using the unnoficial daedulus plugin (D3D8? newest one i could find) but as a result there are some wierd glitchy artifacts going on. Ranging from minor probs like the menu's being messed up:

to the intros and titantrons being screwy:

to more major problems such as lines cutting up the screen:

and finally complete screen coverage (this only lasts a few seconds but it's pretty much impossible to play with this happening):

The configuration of the plugin is the defaults with them being:

800x600 for both resolutions (windowed and full screen).
Frame buffer type as double buffer flip (triple buffer flip also worked for me but none of the others seemed to work) and the second drop down box is 'Faster'

Out of the tickboxes the ones ticked are Alpha Blender, Big Images, Smart Screen Update. I've tried deselecting all, selecting all, choosing random combinations but I would greatly appreciate any help as to what could be a better combination for the config. Thanks in advance!

[Edit] Just realised I could have attached the .jpgs rather than imageshacking them. So sorry if they dissapear quickly or something. I'll attach them to the actual post if they do. Soz! [/edit]

    Ok,
-the titrons should be like that, it's the plugin I'm afraid
-the menu should look like that (looks like that on my one)
-the intros shouldn't be like that
-lines cutting up, shouldn't happen too
-that gray screen shouldn't be happening too.

Uh... you got the latest graphics drivers?

Edit: Oh yeah my settings, here:

Downloaded the latest drivers (71.89) but still the same problems. Tried using the same settings as snesmaster but that didn't resolve it either. Ah well.
