Donkey Kong 64 crashes because of cheats ?

Okay this is a cheat related problem so i put it here .
I got 1964 and i was playing Donkey Kong 64 and it
runs okay and isnt slow. So i thought id try the cheats
and i picked some and when the game started it look messed
up with missing textures and textures every where and i only get this problem when using cheats. i dont need the cheats but it shouldnt be right if you cant use cheats once in a while.

im suprised u can get the game to work, mine just ses "NO CONTROLLER" at the intro song part, and i cant go any further, so ur lucky ur DK64 works
