well, i've used mupen, pj64, 1964 and nemu64 and i would have to rank them like this
Project64>1964>Mupen64>Nemu64
Project64 is just more stable, other than that 1964 matches it in every way, mupen is essentially a clone of pj64 without support for gs codes. nemu is more of a developer's emulator if you ask me... it has tons of debug features and its graphics plugin exports 3d geometry.
OS: Windows XP Home SP2/Ubuntu - Gnome
CPU: Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz
Video: Radeon X800 Pro 256MB
Audio: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy II 6.1
Memory: 1024MB DDR ULTRA PC2700
Disk 1: CD-R/RW DVD-R+-/RW+-
Disk 2: 120 GB
Disk 3: 120 GB
Disk 4: 120 GB
Other: Frontside Media Board, ATI TV Wonder, Diablotek Case, 19" TFT x2
i would say 1964 and pj64 is all u need, i prefer 1964 because it require less memory than pj64, ( i only have 733 mhz of memory ) 1964 is having some cool options that pj64 dont have,, like the rom pluging setting that save your current plugin configuration for a particular game or the counter factor option etc. i noticed that the grafics are a bit better on pj64 but not a big deal, and i find 1964 as stable as pj64 is. hope it helped
