Can I play the N64 emulator without a control?

Is there a way to just play with the keyboard because I dont really have the money to buy the cable thing for the controller? Thank you.

Thank you, you guys are awesome. Oh some other things, if these things cant be fixed then I'll deal with it but I'm having a problem with the sound, I tried to download something for it but I got an error, maybe I did something wrong. I forgot what it was called but it was a file extension. I got it from here. And the the color is kinda messed up too, Link is white and the "Zelda" letters and logo turn black. Any info would help.
