Both my brother and I are trying to netplay in Zsnes, but when I set up my PC as the server, and his as a client (via Zsnes), he can't load the game. Windows just kicks him out. What the crap!?

Are the files named exactly the same? Do you have a firewall up?
You should be using ZBATTLE to play your ZSNES games... http://www.zbattle.net/
Files don't have to be named the same, just have the same check-sum. Also, make sure you have the latest version of ZSNES, http://www.zsnes.com/ Should work fine. Also, make sure the person with the higher connection is the server when using ZBATTLE.
[EDIT: And make sure you and your brother are both using the same versions of ZSNES... ZBATTLE isn't an emulator, but it helps with the handshaking between two computers, allows you to find other players and connect easier.]
