yeah I really thought he was doing good, but the world has a tendency to take great people from us.

yeah thats stupid. So he got more involved after he got paralyzed. Well, that doesnt discount what he did for all those people. It took him getting paralyzed to become aware of them.

Well, of course Maddox has a point. But the problem with his argumentation is that in the end its wrong. So, everyone who does good cant be good because he only does it for himself. Hell, you could blame Christopher Reeve for not having made a foundation for, say, AIDS patients. So? Of course you get more involved when you feel any kind of sickness. I dont see any problem with that. Alot of people start doing something when they feel the necessity and alot dont do anything then. Its good that Reeve did something.

I really did think he died years ago. Oh well. He's dead now anyway, so I can stop wondering.

This I found incredibly sad. As someone who grew up watching the Superman movies with my brother and father, and who read the comics for a good number of years, this came as a great shock especially after all his progress. Christopher Reeve was a remarkable actor and campaigner, and a genuinely good person who showed that even in the situation he was in, there's always hope, and hope can do incredible things. He will be truly missed.
*Off to watch Superman DVD out of respect.*

Yeah, pretty much. It's human nature to want to cover our own asses, we are selfish beings by nature. Look at the Internet, plenty of selfish assholes here(by here, I mean the Internet as a whole ). Nobody ever wants to take time out of their "busy" schedules to help anybody else unless they get something out of it.

Disclaimer: Not everyone is like that but generally, most people are.
