One thing I saw in all that mess was "buffer underrun." have you tried turning your CD write speed down a little (I'm assuming you are using MAX speed)? Say if you have a 48x try writing with it set to 32x, and if that is successful, then work your way up to find the fastest speed that doesn't give errors.

Doomulation

?????????????????????????
He's burning at 8X if you read the log.
I also noticed "buffer underrun" there... perhaps you're messing around too much when burning?

or he may have buffer under run protection off, if so, i'm pretty sure he's better off without the burner :D

I had a problem similar to this and it made it where I had to buy a new burner. Like sheik124 said, check to see if buffer underun protection on and it might work right.

You need to turn on DMA for your burner.

zAlbee

Keeper of The Iron Tail
yes, turning on both DMA and buffer underrun protection would help.

if your burner doesn't come with buffer underrun protection, i recommend you:

1. burn at lower speeds (2x, 4x)
2. defrag your harddrive beforehand
3. have at least 800 MB free space on your HD
4. close all your other programs

If you have the money, I recommend going to www.tigerdirect.com or any other site you can find and order a better burner. You can get them pretty cheap nowadays, I bought a 52x24x52x burner for $40 a while back so they should be cheaper now.

DMA is the big issue it seems. Your burner doesn't have DMA on and your dvd drive does.

Go into device manager and select IDE controllers. Then look at the primary and secondary controllers and make sure everything says "dma if available", I have the feeling your burner is runnng PIO ONLY mode.

Don't waste money buying another burner.

Also, it depends of the specs of your machine. For example if you want burn at 8x iwith a Pentium3 500 Mhz you should not open anymore programs than Nero when burning the disc, because if you do you get the famous "Buffer overrun"
