I am using a toshiba satellite notebook with 2.2Ghz cpu, 356mb ram
it has a Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME graphics controller driver version
6.14.10.3751 - freshly downloaded and installed 2 days ago
im using winxp home with directx 9.0b
im getting that same error about Direct3D device creation failed.
The gfx settings are set to hardware acellerated, changing to
software makes no difference. Reducing the hardware acceleration
stops this message but when im running mario kart it gets
past the first nintendo and dolby screens, then asks me to
pick a resolution 50hz or 60hz. no matter what i pick it then
goes to a white screen and crashes. windows says it caused
a problem in video (see attachment)
when i change the directx to debug and not retail
it gets past this and actually moves onto the red on black
nintendo logo. however it has now dropped from an original
7fps to 0.5fps
any ideas i should try or tell you?
