I would have agreed with the 'use no hammers' thing. Super Smash Bros. isn't a game for people who think they always can win with luck. It's a game which you have to master whether there are items or not. For example: you're always depending on the hammer that will show up, and you beat someone with the hammer who's very good, you can't tell yourself to be good. I mostly will pick the hammer, but only because I don't want the opponent picking it up making it a easy loss for me. And if I pick it up I'll mostly won't hit the enemy with it.
What else bothers me is the baseball bat, because it's a one-hit K.O. (most of the times). I don't mind if someone throws it at you, but don't use it to kill the opponent.
But the baseball bat is so hard to hit someone with. If it was easy to hit people, people would ave a problem with it, just like the hammer. But, it takes forever to do.

I agree, bats are fine. You need to understand that certain aspects of the game are there regaurdless of whether you like them or not.Originally Posted by Jimbot
Yes the bat is usually a one hit kill, but its takes skill to use it well enough to actually hit someone else. Just like it takes skill to play SSB. Just learn to deal with it D:
And yes, Hammers are cheap and are not to be used in a 1v1, but in a battle royale its first one to the hammer wins![]()

I dont see what the big deal with hammers is. If you are saying the game should be about skill not luck, then the skill is being able to avoid getting hit by the hammer. I spent weeks training with my brother working out anti-hammer strategies for different characters, same as I did with starman and homerun bats.

It's not my imaginary friends that are a problem,
it's the imaginary enemies.
For battle royale, yes I agree. Its good to use anti hammer moves then. But in a 1v1, its more about absolute skills, and hammers dont fit into the skill categoryOriginally Posted by Lutomes

To test skill and not luck, items should be turned off completely.
There is the random element of what item will appear and where it will appear (in close proximity to whom).
IMO the tournaments should be item free, thus focusing the test on skill, rather than testing what items the console chooses and where it places them...
Or maybe there should be an item tourney and a non-item tourney, with the non-item tourney carrying more weight.
that's just me...

I'm trying to find a Item Switch code so the items can be turned off.Originally Posted by BabyBee

Yeah, once you find it, and it works, and its not a lot, the whole community could put it into their thing and then we could do no items

A couple of questions:
Is it playable on a 28.8K modem with 200ms pings?
Does Project64k support SRAM/EEPROM files in multiplayer? If so, then why not give everyone a save with all characters/item switch unlocked?
