    Help With Mame!!!!

I downloaded many Arcade Roms, X-Men, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Simpsons, Marvel Vs. Capcom: Clash Of The Super Heroes, Captain America and The Avengers, Samurai Shodown IV - Amakusa's Revenge / Samurai Spirits - Amakusa Kourin, Metal Slug X - Super Vehicle-001, Street Hoop / Street Slam / Dunk Dream, King Of Fighters '97, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles -Turtles in Time, X-Men: Children of the Atom, and X-Men Vs. Street Fighter. Their all in the same folder, but the problem is the only ones MAME reads are the ones that are in BOLD text above^. but the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles one it reads says it wont work so I'm confused. Here's my questions, what happened to the roms I downloaded that MAME isn't reading? and If MAME can't play them then what can?, and lastly why won't Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles work?

I'd like to add that I have the most updated MAME, so I have no idea what the problem is. Thanks for all your help.

Use an older version. I use 0.62 and have had no problems with it. However, when I used 0.70 and newer, I had the same problems you had. So you should get version 0.62 . And if you still get errors ( like ng-lo.rom or something like that) you need the neo-geo bios files. Put them in the zipped roms that need them.

With new releases of mame concurrent with updated releases of dumped roms, some older rom names and romsets have been changed. Make sure the roms you downloaded are named correctly to the newest version of mame.

Well, do you know the new names of the games that I should change it to, or where I can find the name change. Any help would be really awesome.

The roms that you've listed haven't changed significantly for some time, so if you have problems with names or (in these cases very) outdated sets, you should find a better source.

Let's assume for now that the names are wrong. If you're using MAME32 you can see the proper rom names in the GUI. Go to View\Customize Fields... and enable the "Directory" field. Make sure your rom zips are named exactly as they appear in the Directory field.

p.s. TMNT - Turtles in Time has protection issues which haven't been worked out yet. You should have read that when you loaded the game.

I haven't had any trouble with most of those games, so they are probably named wrong. You also need to download the neogeo.zip file for games like metal slug and kof.

I recommend running ClrMAME on your ROM sets.

    EDIT: Woohoo! 500th post!

Doesn't anyone search anymore? You could have easily answered your own question.
