PJ cheats...

Is there a home page for cheats for pj? having trouble determining how to turn them on and off.

Hi terkan13, How do you mean.

Like activating & deactivating them or also adding them?

You Can just go to the Contents & Index built in with PJ in Help from the Browser.

Go into Contents, Click on using Project64, then on Cheating In Games.

& it will give you some info there

How to turn on the cheats: very easy
Just start the game, then choose options->gameshark codes. Choose the cheats (by clicking the box) you want.
How to turn off the cheats: very easy, just read the first q

Whenever I click on contents or index in the help menu i get the little hourglass and then it goes away without giving me anything at all. I assumed it was something that hadn't been finished.

I meant first question.
And yes, there is a bug in pj64 1.4 so, that the help menu doesn't work under XP (it work on win98 however).

Just unchecking the item doesnt seem to turn it off.

Yes in the Contents & Index (That you cant use)
You can if you go into your PJ64 Folder & double click on it there.
It will then open up & you can read away
Sorry, i never knew that you was on XP, but that is how to read it.

in some cases of really strong Codes.
you will have to take them off, save & then restart the game.
Then load from the save ???

Of course it doen't work. If you want to turn off the cheats, you must turn them from the cheat menu, then to restart the rom, because the settings stay in the memory (not all cheats, but for example -> zelda-> max hearts, when you turn off this code the hearts stay). Also don't save if you want to completly turn off the cheat.

I had already tried to turn it off and restart the rom. I was unaware that some of the cheats could not be turned off once it was saved in a state. Specifically, once I turned on the use sword case as shield I couldn't get it off.

I started again and fixed it.
