    N64 N64: Zelda: Ocarina Of Time

    <center><a href="http://www.emulation64.com/reviews/images/n64/zelda1.jpg"><img src="http://www.emulation64.com/reviews/images/n64/zelda1s.jpg" border="0"></a></center>

    The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was before it was released one of the most talked-about games for Nintendo 64. It was the fastest selling game in history; more than 350 000 people bought ia before it hit the shelves. Like previous Zelda games, Link's goal is to eliminate Ganondorf and save the world. Sounds simple, huh?

    GRAPHICS: 6/6

    The graphics are really great. Definitely the best game I've tried with UltraHLE, when it comes to graphics. Nothing to complain about, except it's slow on my system sometimes.

    SOUND: 4/6

    If there's anything that isn't great about Zelda, it's the sound. The sound skips very hard sometimes, it's known to have one of the worst skippings of the UltraHLE compatible games. The sound effects are limited otherwise too. The sound is the only weak point of this game.

    <center><a href="http://www.emulation64.com/reviews/images/n64/zelda2.jpg"><img src="http://www.emulation64.com/reviews/images/n64/zelda2s.jpg" border="0"></a></center>

    GAMEPLAY: 6/6

    The story is very, very good. The gameplay has always been the strongest point for Zelda games over the years. Nothing beats it. It's the balance between action and thinking that makes it so great. It's structure is so perfect, it's scary. I don't even want to think about how many hours the 200 members of the Zelda staff has used for just the story.

    ADDICTION: 5/6

    Every Zelda games has something magical, a force that won't let you loose the grip of the controller. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has it, too. Although it has the Zelda magical attraction, it isn't as great as previous versions.

    <center><a href="http://www.emulation64.com/reviews/images/n64/zelda3.jpg"><img src="http://www.emulation64.com/reviews/images/n64/zelda3s.jpg" border="0"></a></center>

    Probably the best game ever made. At least for Nintendo 64. It's just a great game overall. Although the sound isn't very good, the story, graphics and gameplay makes up for it. Thank you, Mr. Miyamoto, for creating one of the best games ever!

    As the game's name shows, this is not only a game, it is a Legend. There is no words to describe the quality of Miyamoto's game story. The graphics are good, the sound is also good and the music is awesome. A must have for every N64 owner

    Hehe, very very old review as you can tell by the date I posted on the bottom. Back then, UltraHLE was the only emulator running it, and back then I reviewed the games based on how they performed in an emulator plus how good of a game it was, not just how good the actual game was.

    What kind of a review is that? Reviewing how it performs on an emulator? Isn't that kind of reviewing the emulator? Sorry it is a bit strange..

    This game isn't bad, but there's better games out there. Especially older zeldas.

    Well, they weren't only game reviews like I said above, if you had read my post you would see the reasoning for it. Compatibility was so low for UltraHLE back then, not many games ran great, so it was also a way for people to know which games were playable. Also, I guess I wanted something special, I didn't want the reviews to look like they did on all other sites.

    This game is not majorly processor taxing, but video card taxing. With Direct3D,
    for good performance:

    ATI= Radeon 7000 or better

    Nvidia= GeForce2 MX or better*

    *SDR SDRAM @175 mhz recommended
    (The video RAM frequency lower than 175 mhz probably will cause slower game play and stuttering audio) (The GeForce2 MX is bandwidth-hungry with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time)

    Its pretty strange reviewing the game which has been played on a emulator which was still heavily buggy and a lot of other issues pertaining need to be taken into question especially the sound category which is obviously has a major impact on any good modern game considering the emulator its reviewed upon is the defunct ultrahle which uptil a few yrs ago undoubtedly was the best one to play N64 games on but i believe it shld be rereviewed again and given better marks considering its one of the best ever games i played in the zelda series if not the best.....

    You revived an old thread from the dead just to post something I've already stated? Bit needless don't you think.
