I don't know if it's a good idea but here it is :

maybe you could add some questions after the rules when people register and if they don't have the right answers they have to do it again, SIMPLE questions but just to make sure that they have read the rules

exemple :

Question 1

a) you can ask freely for roms
b) you can give links to roms but can't ask for them
c) you CAN'T ask for roms and you CAN'T give links to roms

I know it sounds stupid, but that way they couldn't skip the rules

Well to be honest they cant skip the rules.

Its there when they sign up !!
& its there everytime they enter ET.
So if they havent bothered to read what is infront of them, Then its thier own fault.

yeah but do you read software user licences? I don't and most people don't, so that's why I thought it would be an idea to 'force' them to understand the 3-4 most important rules of emutalk :)

?????????????????????????
Well, the software licenses are mostly sooooo long! And the rules are not. Of course, i don't read the software licenses ( :-" ) but then, when it comes to short stuff like rules (especially on forums), i read them.

HELL YES. IT'S ME!
i usually dont read the rules unless i really am unsure about something.
But seriously, 99% of it is just common sence! good god how can people fail to realised that roms are illegal? And that this is a site that primarily discusses emulators, not illegal roms (the name kinda gives it away)

Its totally beyond me, how some people can be so stupid.

The Gentlemen is right here, if they dont read the rules and get banned for something it is their fault and theirs only. :) :emutalk:
