New 1964 build (0.8.5) - Goldeneye at real 60FPS
*Updated 7/7/2009 to 1964 1.0/1.1

Attached to this post is a build of 1964 which includes a modification to run the N64 cpu at an effectively overclocked speed. This allows games which ran less than optimally on original hardware to be able to run the best they can.

Goldeneye works at a real 60fps (which is roughly 60Display lists/sec), and it's like another game seeing it so smooth. Set it to CF=1 (counterfactor 1) before playing also. Other games see benefits, other games are broken.

You'll probably need a 2GHz AMD64 or Core2Duo to run this at fullspeed, since the CPU emulation is about 4 times more intensive.

Sorry about the upload site, don't feel like using my servers for various reasons and Emutalk won't accept the upload.

Nope, hopefully it will inspire the other authors out there to include an overclock option in their better emus (or even Schibo to return). This is mostly just a proof of concept so people cannot say "that cant be done". It won't take much to do what I did in most emulators either , only a few line changes.

I was running goldoneye at defeult video, sound plugins and settins and was able to get that 60dv \fps(internet monter, fraps) with out problems. The game feel to fast though. I only use a intel duo core(1st) t2400 @ 1.83. without vsynic I was able 70-90 so the miniunium proplerly is like intel duo core(1st) t2300 and that may have slow down. Also though mostly irrelevent I was use an intel gma 950.

Feel too fast or too smooth? I've compared the 60DL/s Goldeneye to the normal one and the game seems to update at the same speed, the enemies move the same speed etc. So it should still be the same "speed".

Clements has much to be proud of
You may be onto something here. It actually works incredibly well, noticeably smoother - especially during intro scenes like the Dam that tend to work at a lower framerate on the real system. Requirements are definitely higher. Fullscreen seems to crash for me, though - Windowed mode works.

Another benefit if you didn't notice is the "load time". Check out how quick the black screen comes and goes on the first level compared to a non overclocked emu. Black screen takes about 5 seconds usually, less than 1 on the overclocked build.

Fullscreen is fine for me.. try a different gfx plugin.. Jabo 1.5 worked fine for me iirc.

I will try to get a similar in to pj64 but make it an option that people can play with per game
