Martin if you read this is it possible for users to define if they want am/pm or 24hr clock time display? Also is there an option to turn off subscribing to every post you make?

This is not possible, it's using the am/pm system, since that's what most people around here are used to (I suppose?).

Also is there an option to turn off subscribing to every post you make?
User control panel --> Edit Options --> Use 'Email Notification' by default? select "No"
