Adaptoid question

That adaptoid thing looks awesome. I'm wondering though, is there a cheaper way to accomplish what it does? 30$ is alot to pay just to be able to plug in 1 single controller to my PC. Also, how does the thing work? Is there any noticeable difference between using one of these and playing on the N64? Thanks.

The Adaptoid makes your N64 controller 'look' like a Windows gamepad to Windows. That's it. The advantage is that the layout of the controller is 'right' for N64 games. You can use your N64 controller in Microsoft Word, if it suits you, or in just about any game that supports gamepads.

There are some other adapters, but none are as good - reports are - and none are that much cheaper. If you want cheap, buy a Windows gamepad that looks kinda like an n64 controller. You can find some for less than $10.

...and this isn't a project64 thread, so it is probably going to be moved elsewhere...
