<b>Welcome to the All New Emu64</b>
Hey everyone, I just wanted to welcome everyone to the all New and Improved Emulation64. First thing I wanted to do, is give RatTrap a BIG Thank You for the Awesome Design you are currently Viewing. All java script including Scrolling menus, roll over images, scrolling site slogan, and many other cool things were all coded by RatTrap. He did a great job and I am very impressed by RatTrap's work, and clean code.<br><br>Some of you might know me from my site <a href="http://www.psxfanatics.com" target="_blank">PSX Fanatics</a> (shameless plug). I was the one who converted Emulation64 over to PostNuke on November 10th of 2001. With the new design by RatTrap we decided it would be best to improve Emulation64 with a better system then PostNuke. Martin also wanted something that would interact with EmuTalk, including news comments, and other cool things like latest topics on the main page.<br><br>So this is where I come in again. I have now converted Emulation64 over to the new system I made. Some parts of the site are not totaly finished but will be up very shortly within the next few days. Martin was very excited about the site, and this has been something in the works for months now, just waiting on my lazy ass to finish my part. Not bad for one weeks worth of work. ;)<br><br>Here is some information for the All New Emulation64!</font><br><img src="images/trans_1x1.gif" width="1" height="7" border="0"><br><font class="post_quote">The main direction and focus has changed with the new site. Emulation64 will now concentrate on Nintendo 64 Emulation, which it does best, and will continue to cover Next Generation Emulation news. With the changed direction it will enable us to bring you the best in N64 Emulation with the latest news, downloads, information, and support. I also wanted to mention a few features are currently not up but will be very shortly. Currently the login area is still waiting for some more design graphics from RatTrap, the Reviews, and Interview scripts are currently being worked on by me. We also have a few others things we will be rolling out with within the next week. Lots of exciting things are happening and will be happening for Emulation64!</font><br><img src="images/trans_1x1.gif" width="1" height="7" border="0"><br><font class="post_text">I also wanted to mention that I am a part of the Emulation64 Family and will be making a stronger showing from here on out. I will continue to script for the site and help create the best quality site possible. If you have any suggestions or ideas for the site, then feel free to reply to this post. Thanks for coming and I hope you enjoy your stay!<br><br>Edit: We found an error with posting News to EmuTalk. It seems to post the news with a future time, so when people reply it puts the reply above the actual news post. We are looking into a fix for this, sorry for the confusion. :D

there is something that could be better:
When i go to www.emulation64.com i see a black screen with "loading...", it looks normal, but when drag a selection in that page, i can see that there is a emulation64 logo on the background, but i can only see when i select it. There is also a "skip preload" link but i cannot click it because it is out of the screen (my resolution is 1024x768) (i can see the link when i press F11).
Other than those little "bugs", i have to say "Congratulations, Ratrap!!"

err, sorry to say this right after the "release" of the site, but there are also some other bugs (finding bugs on homepages is my hobby :))
in the misc block the when you hover over reviews, interviews or about the dot before emu64 team starts blinking and not the dot before reviews, interviews or about.
the same happens in the network block with glnintendo64(), nesterdc, nsx2, olax screenshot, and pj64. The pj64 cheats dot starts blinking then.
hehe, you can call me a freak for finding these things :)
edit: emulators block: daedalus and fake64 -> mupen

The new design looks AWESOME! I can image if someone who has worked on that for months what the results could be. Incredible. Thumbs Up for RatTrap, you did a VERY good job.
It's official, I will look up to this design everytime I make my own.

It is very impressive. The general layout and the details :).
I've noticed another bug: the random slogan is restarted when you hover the emutalk buttons. Another good thing may be a "alt=..." for these buttons, because I don't think that their use is evident for newcomers.

that isn't a bug, it's just the information about the emutalk button you hovered

 You're right... I didn't take the time to read the whole text just Emu... starting over again... Ithought it was the slogan. re:blush:
EDIT: one problem, though, the "skip preload" link on the preoad page is hidden because of the scroll=no (unless you make the screen scroll by selecting text with the mouse, or press f11 to maximize the display window). My resolution is1024*768.

small suggestion, move the 'skip intro' or wateva higher.
main site is real nice, but it takes way way way way too long on a 56k, sorry to be a bitch.

i'm flying back tonight.. so i thought i might check the site since i was told it was out.. heh.. didn't think keith would be finished yet.. and i didn't think he would release it with the preload script as buggy as he said it had ended up being latelly.. supposedly something was changed while i was away and it's been buggy.. i think?.. nice work though keith.. you really are gifted.. i'll see if i might do something when i get back next week with the js-scripts..
bout the few link buggs.. eh.. i dunno.. i guess keith must have had some trouble with the scripts coz pretty much everything worked when i left.. i bet it's something he has known about.. his probably bussy ya know..
moving the skip button up wasn't all we where gonna do.. the idea was to move everything up actually abit more.. coz in 800x600 you only see like 75% of the 64 in a ring.. my fault.. i was supposed to do that.. but i got caught up.. you know i'm kinda busy with my own life out here..
also TigerTron was kind enugh to make me remember what was missing from that site (she saw it way back when i started it).. now i remember what was supposed to go in the few "bold" spots.. (i had a weird memory gap last srping)..
also the login box is left to make.. supposedly the same one as the first and second build of this site.. (this is version 3 of the site from my part)..
after that i guess it's all good..
bout the download time.. eh.. well.. marty's the one.. he wanted it.. i told him something like.. "but you know.. it's gonna be hell'a'slow".. he was like.. "shitnitz.. 56kers are noobz.. me am l33t0r.. r0xor y0 b0xorz".. or sumthing like that.. oh and "ktnx asshugg".. now he is on 56k.. kind of funny huh? :p.. blah.. he'll prolly be back on fatband in no time anyways.. to laugh at us cable users..

The new design looks AWESOME, but I don't like that the script it's based on vBulletin, looks like a copy of ngEMU.
BTW, those are recent posts or threads ?

Fixed some of the stuff, someone will need to fix the preloader though. Hopefully RatTrap will send us a new one soon.
Still fixing and adding new stuff, but I won't be around much for the next 2 - 3 weeks. My wife is having our 3rd child this thursday coming up (scheduled c-section). Plus I am a little burned out working 7 days straight coding the site, and making multiple revisions to a few things along the way. ;)
Had to put everything and everyone on hold to get the site launchable (Wife is still pissed at me) which is a bit hard with kids, wife, and a fulltime job. I think it turned out ok, had a few problems here and there, but nothing too difficult to fix. Plus it was for my good buddy Martin, which I would do anything for so it was totaly worth the effort.
Just give it some time and we will get everything ironed out and working great. :)
