gamepads not detected

I have just installed Win200 pro and now PJ64 does not recognise my gamepads.
In Options/configure input, USBHuman Interface devices are listed instead of the usual 2 axis 12 button gamepads.
I am usings jabos direct input7 1.5 and have tried N-Rages direct input8 V21.80a.
I have had my gamepads running on jabos plugin under XP home so Im a little confused as to what is going on.
Is it a matter of trying other plugins?

Ive never had to install drivers for my gamepads before. They are plug and play compatible and dont come with any drivers(Bought them brand new I did)

my system:

Geforce4 MX 420 64mb
256 PC133 ram
40gig HDD
Windows 2000 proffessional (service pack 3)
2xThrustmaster Firestorm digital gamepads

Doomulation

?????????????????????????
Make sure they show up in the control panel-->gamepads.
If not, see to to install it correctly, or perhaps it isn't connected properly.

They also work fine for Grand prix 4 and all of my other games.
Its just PJ64 I'm having trouble with!

very strange.. i blaim it on win2k myself, why did you go from XP to 2k? XP has many advantages over 2k, and like u said works with your gamepads, why not Upgrade to xp?

Win2k Proffessional seems better than XP Home 2 me.

The reason why Ive downgraded operating systems is because of Xp's damn activation thing.

I cant find a working crack for it anywhere.

I am now having trouble with visualboy advance 1.1
it is recognising my gamepads but when i bind direction buttons says left is up,down is right ect The buttons work OK though.
