I tried out the latest of PJ64 for the first time. The graphics emulation is very nice, the best I've seen, but the sound is lacking, as well as performance. With sound on, it is so choppy that while playable, extremely annoying to do so. I have tried the same program on 3 completely different computers and it is all the same. Excessively choppy sound and occasional freezes that last for 4 or 5 seconds. Any fix or plugin or anything for this?

I didn't bother to post specifications because all 3 of the machines that I tried pj64 on are more than adequate to run the software.

Syncing game to audio has no affect on any machine of mine tried that.

ultrahle 2? wasn't aware of that being that they haven't updated ultrahle in years.

people people... understand it is not my system mmmkay?

athlon XP 2200 (1800)
1 gig RAM
100 gig hdd ATA 133
geforce 4 ti 4200
SB Audigy
XP pro
Here is what I DID find out though...

some plugins work better than others for certain games

some games are hopeless with pj64, even games that are otherwise widely supported by other emulators (mariokart64 is a good example)

sound IS an issue with pj64. On some games it is very good, on some it will start off good then start to get bad with popping and skipping, and with some games it makes the game unplayable.

having tested a few other emulators I have to say it's a tie between 1964 and pj64. pj64 has the best graphics when it's working right, and 1964 is alot more stable with sound and control. For the older games (mario 64 mariokart 64 nothing beats ultraHLE) in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong I respect the efforts people make on those emulators, for I can't even make an emultor myself, but to the people on this message board calling the pj64 "flawless" and "perfect" obviously are playing one game on their emulator that does happen to perform perfectly so they are calling the emulator itself perfect. I mean, if you bought a nintendo gamecube, and it ran super mario sunshine flawlessly but wouldn't run any other game, would you call that perfect (just an idea there)?

These tests were done on 3 of my systems, and one on a friend's.
Don't try to ask me about all 4 systems and settings, just trust me when I say I'm not an idiot and I know what I'm doing. It's not my system ok?
