the NEMU team mentioned something about it a long time ago

I don't even know if any of the disks have been dumped.

Correct. One of my friends paid stupid ammounts of money for an import and all the disks. I borrowed it for a while. Not only does it make the 64 look super sweet, the FZero expansion pack was truly awesome.. :D

So it was worth the money? :)
Not at all! He paid in the region of £600 for everything including a Jap 64. Good for me though as I get to play it for free.. :D That's why I'm after an emu..

mainly it just provided a large capacity format for the N64, the 64DD also had access to Randnet,

What did the 64DD do? Improve the N64 graphics?
It added a writeable drive to the 64 so users could modify certain games, etc. For example, for those who don't know, there was a disc that was used with the FZero cart which allowed you to create your own tracks, cars and tournaments. Sadly that was about the only piece of sweet software that appeared on it.
