2 player game using 2 computers on LAN

Is it possible for 2 computers on lan to player a two player game like battle city in JNES?

Jnes supports the Kaillera library, I would check out http://www.kaillera.com for things like servers and such, it should be possible to set it up, I really couldn't walk you through that tho here...
