ut2003 demo coming out in 5 hours. http://mindspring.com/~mobius/signcam/

**** this is gonna take quite a few hours to get but i cant wait.

anyone who has the *ahem* leaked version, how does it run on ur system, and can u use anti-analaising at reasonable resolutions allowing it to still be playable?

It runs reasonably fine on my 550mhz geforce4 mx system, i run at 640x480 2x fsaa medium detail. :)

Athlon 1.2Ghx with Geforce 2 Pro runs it at 60fpsish with low details, except for bad spots in the map. Athlon 1.73 with Geforce 4 TI 4200 runs it fine with high settings, and a 2x anti-analaising. That at 1024*768 and 1280*1024 (almost no fps diff between the two reso's on either comp).

Where has my last post disappeared to?

I honestly don't mind if it has been deleted, as the message seems to have gotten through to the person concerned.

Can't wait to play this game, not at my regular computer at the moment, and this one won't be able to play it. Still in a few weeks time my GF gets a new computer, so hopefully I will be able to download the Demo then!

I have to agree, the water is awsome. But I don't think then graphics engine has advanced past what I've seen in other games...

well i dunno Malcolm. this is the only game ive played recently that does not need xtra settings like AF and FSAA to make it look incredible. i cant wait to see wat doom III looks like.

oh yeh, Dude is damn right about the detail on the CTF level. i cant wait to get my hands on the level editor, cos ppl r gonna make some sick levels.

just wondering whether UT 2003 would run on my crappy specs with all details turned to low.... Anybody with low specs tried it? I heard it would run quite good ....

well work dude the proccessor wont need much so it will run on urs i have mine runnin on the default res. not more though my specs are p4 1.7 256 ram tnt2 m64 32 megs my friend has the same game with lower specs and it worked though

ok, this seriously does speed things up, im still not quite sure wat the side effects are, but ppl a bit ****** off about the frame rate even with a fast pc should try it:

yup, im getting a constant 60 fps in the outdoor level deathmatch level, and 70-80fps in the indoor level at 1024x768 and about a 10fps drop in 1200x960 or wateva the res is.

the benchmark.exe doesnt show any increase, but one bloke on the ina fourm seemed to believe that the benchmarks use their own .ini . anyway, i know for a fact theres a difference, when before i was getting 35-40fps no matter the resolution.

rpglover, u can always change the setting back if something doesnt seem right, or back up ur existing .ini file before tampering with it.

hey dude iwould love to know something , now i have the game runnin on res. 800 by 600 Pretty good lets say i used that tweak will the 1024 by 786 res. also run pretty good coz this one runs pretty sux :) thnxs in adv

the new patch is out. i recomend you all to d/l it asap.
the patch fixes alot of weapon balance problems that people were complaining about.
from what i can tell the shock ball moves alot faster but the shock combo takes up 5 shock ammo insted of 2. (much better imo)
the flank cannon is said to be tweaked but i couldnt tell (the flank alt fire is still to short i think)
alot of weapons seems to take off alittle more damage and feel more powerful.
oh and voodoo support is fixed
if you can figure out anything else let me know.
epic still hasent released a fix list so its hard to tell whats changed.

Yup, that was the one thing that bugged me in the initial release, some weapons just felt weak. A specially the machine gun.
Anyway, this patch is a must, because as far as I know, servers would be upgrading to it in no time, and then you won`t be able to connect to the server with the older version.

there is a chance that the weapon changes in the patch may be a spoof.
epic will not confirm tho (they have a funny way of playing with us)
but theres alot of arguing going on about it in the forums.
as some claim the weapons are tweaked and others claim that there not.

Well, I think that the machine gun is a bit more powerful now, and I guess that what you said about the flak canon is right too, but I haven`t noticed anything else.

im 56k, and usually get around 200 ping, wich is ok, but plays better offline cuz of the speed of my PC/Conection

ISDN 64k always connects at 64K Digital AFAIK
56k Modem will always connect below 56k, usually around 48k

So there is about a 2k difference... could be wrong though

yeah me too i have also an orange sky ;) maybe its a bug in the game but its not that bad though ;)
