I'd need to hear tons of positive feedback before I would ever install that service pack, especially after spending hours fixing the original XP installation by removing Messenger and adjusting countless other things. It's simple to use one of those refresh rate patches for Nvidia drivers, so that alone's not going to get anyone to install the service pack. Maybe this USB 2.0 thing will be good in a few years... Anyway, I've read lots of reviews that claim that the service pack slows down their computers, even though most of these people are probably idiots who don't know what they're doing. Don't think I'm pessimistic... I upgraded Windows 2000 with SP2 immediately because it improved speed and stability. I'm just not convinced with XP and all these bloatware issues.

I'll never be able to download it, unless I have a CD burner.

Just leave your computer on all night to download 100 megs... not that big of a deal... especially if you really need this service pack for whatever reason... the issue is how much bloatware is packed in that 100 megs.

it's not a total overhaul or anything like that, it's just a massive patch. I'll download it. There doesn't seem to be any reason not to.
