Hey, Martin

Thanks for the new forum, it works great so far.

But I have noticed it is a little slow than old software when I open any thread.

I think I have seen one problem that my IE browser will reload all small button images every time when I open a new page of thread or to post/reply a new message.

To my understanding, my browser should cache and save these small button images locally and should not reload them every time.

The reloading is slowing me down very much.

I have not checked the HTML code yet, but I think these images must have been either linked as dynamic URL link, or for some other reason they are set to be reload every time.

Could you check this problem? It not only slow the page loading down, but also increase the download traffic on the server.

The small buttons are like [new thread], [post reply], [profile] and so on, all the buttons on the page.

Thanks

I'm a newbie when it comes to MySQL databases, so I can't answer that question. Yes, I agree, if it would cache the files it would definitely load faster. But I don't know, maybe it does and the database just grabs the files from your cache, although slowly.

Bobbi? Comments please?

eh.. hmmm.. checked the html source.. didn't really find anything that would stop the images from being loaded from your disk.. kinda weird.. but i've seen other sites do this b4.. might be a server thing.. me not know..

all i know is all the pics are under http://www.emutalk.net/images.. that's where all the buttons and stuff like that are.. not inside the SQL database.. and i say that coz they could be.. i've used SQL to store images that way on another site.. but there are fisical not virtual.. least it seems to be that way on the html source.. hope bobbi knows something bout it though..

I talked to Bobbi and he said it was some setting on the server. No matter, it loads so quickly anyway so it's not a problem.
