First see if you ROMs are good. To do this use GoodN64. Yoou can DL it from Smiff's site :http://www.smiff.clara.net/utils/rom.htm

Now for the ROMs & how they play. Some ROMs run but have errors, others are flawless. There are some that require a fast computer to play good 1Ghz+ I think. To see how well PJ64 plays a ROM check the Compatiblity list:
http://www.smiff.clara.net/emulators/pj64/compatibility.htm

Also when you have problems in the future check the FAQ:
http://www.smiff.clara.net/emulators/pj64/help.htm

It may also help if you tell what video card you have too.

Then your PC is knackered.... this is not an emulator problem.... post in some hardware forums or something.

Some hints:

Run DX diagnostics, see that you have Direct3D working, update graphics card drivers, as last resort reinstall windows.

If you have a basic video card, then it isn't good enough. You have to have a good video card to be able to play the N64 emu's.
