using system memory for Textures in PCI Mode

I was just wondering how i could put my video card into pci mode. I want to play some games I have but my 8Mb video card sucks. I know i need to upgrade but if use pci mode could I at least run games that won't start unless it detects the required amount of VRAM? Thanks!

I don't think it works that way. If your Video card is AGP, it stays in AGP mode, if its PCI it stays in PCI mode. If you have one of each, you can change the boot order in your system bios so it will boot from PCI or AGP first (if detected). I don't think you can change a AGP card to PCI mode or vica versa.

Anyway, even if you had a PCI card I seriously doubt your plan would work. Even PCI cards have VRam and the settings that allow you to specify the amount of system memory to use on textures are simply there for Direct X and Open GL's purposes, not for use as some sort of virtual video memory.
