Tell me...
you bought this computer from some company or something...
or did you but all the parts yourself?

That's pretty much for a new computer.
I got mine for under that sum, even though it was a completly new computer without screen.

im confused by your post doom?? i'm pretty sure thats a good deal. if you look i put all top of the line stuff in it.

my other computer costs $749, and it is an athlon 1.4GHz, 256 DDR, GeForce 2, on board sound, 40 GIG HD, something similar to whats in your sig. so you can see why yours might have been cheaper.

i didn't feel like building my own comp because i hate dealing with crap if it doesn't work out right. aslo, the actual comp cost $1079, the rest was shipping

I like building and adding stuff to my PC. And above all, I hate adding $$$ to the PC price, just cause some lazy ass technician does the same work I do.

Ugh... ???
It hurts me to see that you're using a P4...
They are seriously crap. But what's worst of it is that when you buy a computer, you usually get one...

Well...
guess you can live with it...

They're bad! And evil!
The AMD's outperform the P4. And it's a shame to see "2.5 GHz", just when it performs 2 GHz (or even less).

With many, many, many other stuff...

Your overexaggerating, a P4 2.5 Ghz would perform at about 2.3 Ghz at the very least. But yes, Intel has been "cheating" by saying their processors are faster than they really are.

Comparing to athlon, that'd 2 ghz at least.

P4 is a perfectly fine cpu, and excells in some areas compared to the athlon (stability and robustness. Of how many fried/chipped p4's have you heared?) It is slower on a clock for clock basis but intel went for maximum clock speeds instead of maximum work per clock and the result is the fastest desktop cpu on the market.
