GUI doesn't work, how do I fix this? (Using Ubuntu 11.04)

Hey. I just installed mupen64plus. But I can't get the gui to work.
I'm on ubuntu 11,04,
First I tried the version from getdeb.net's PPA, and since that one didn't work I added the mupen64plus ppa. The gui still doesn't work.
How do I fix this?

Caveats (Read this before complaining):

    There is no GUI application for selecting the ROMs. The GUI code was removed during the re-architecture for the sake of platform independence. There is only a command-line front-end application. If you would like to have a GUI front-end, I encourage you to write one. The core library API is fully documented and published on our emuwiki site.
