CD Drive Problems

After Formatting my pc, i have now a huge problme with my dvd drive just doesn't work. I can't get it to read anything. It is recognised by both windows and dos but it will not read anything in either. i've tried updating my bios and drivers butto no avail. The thing that is weird is that it usually worked in dos and i could boot fromthe cd but now i can't.

The only reson i can give is that i installed linux but i got rid of it due to modem issues and formtted and it stopped working after that. it may have something to do with linux or not. i'm baffled.

Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

yes it is plugged in and i'm pretty sure it isn't turned off in the bios but i will do one quick check now

i'm pretty sure it is the drive now cause i pulled it out and chucked it in my other pc and nothing.

looks like i'm up for a new dvd drive
