It`s no good... after desperately wanting the game and trying to love it, I just can`t forgive it the stupid flaws which time and time again leave me extremely angry with it. The targeting crosshairs are a Perfect-Dark-style joke - the whole point of crosshairs are to help your accuracy, not be so stupidly designed that they get in the way and obscure what you`re firing at. The fact that if a TIE fighter gets on your tail and fires fast enough, you`re DEAD. A split second is all it takes. No argument. No warning. The fact that it is just too_damn_easy for a TIE to fly straight into you whenever you try to turn and bang, dead again. See Bespin start area for prime example. Relatively speaking very few TIE`s, but again and again you`ll either be shot to death so rapidly you won`t be sure what`s happened (exploding for no apparent reason is NOT fun, though admittedly the A-Wing sucks for shielding), or just crash straight into the bloody things. Those two flaws particularly get worse on Battle of Endor. Then there`s the stupid-ass upgrades. Mostly fun, but ever since I acquired the homing proton torpedoes, the odds of ever finishing Razor Rendezvous (one of the rare levels I actually enjoyed replaying) with a gold have dropped to impossible simply because they can`t be fired fast enough now!
Then there`s Strike At The Core, where you can officially fail the mission within 10 seconds of starting time and time again. Again much crashing into TIE`s and apparently random exploding will be `enjoyed`. As will the Falcon`s apparent general uselessness at doing, well, anything. Other than its habit of rising just when you boost your speed so you slam straight into it.
And this isn`t Monkey Ball style frustration either, where you clearly know its always your own fault. This is the bad kind of frustration, down to unavoidable events or trial-and-error gameplay segments, which gives nothing more than a strong desire to rip the still-spinning disc out of the drive, hurl it across the room as hard as possible and watch it shatter into tiny little fragments against the wall.
My upcoming review will likely be less than positive on this game...

Rogue Leader 0wnz. And yes, I have it. Had it long before you Stalkid, too.
The reasons you're reacting like this:
1. You need some anger managment classes
2. The games has took you in so much (that's a good thing) you're expressing loads of emotions
3. You're a bad loser/gamer
There we go.
nope redah, your extreme bias towards nintendo has well failed this time. rogue leader is excellent on the surface, brilliant graphics and fun to play for a WHILE, but soon its lack of depth and some of the flaws stalkid pointed out start to grate. nowhere near classic status in my opinion

It *is* worth playing (sound and visuals are truly amazing), but gameplay-wise it just has these stupid flaws that should`ve been picked out. The getting shot down is forgivable as it doesn`t happen all that often, but the crashing into TIE`s happens far too frequently. Can`t think of any way the problem could really be avoided though. Just have to watch and not turn too sharply...

the problem with Rogue leader is that certain sections almost require a map of where to direct your craft to avoid incident ;)
it plays like a flight sim that wants to be an arcade game ;)

I've just been playing rouge leader for hours and so far there are a couple of flaws, like trying to navigate with the 3d map but overall i think it is a great game, certainly worth buying :D

I don't think it's as bad as Skalkid is saying, but that said I'm glad I decided to buy Super Monkey Ball at the last minute instead of Rogue Leader. Expect my first review in a long time for Emu64 in a week or two after I've played it some more. And maybe Wave Race and Rogue Leader after I borrow them from a friend for awhile.
I LOVE MONKEY RACE!

Rogue Leader is easy until you try to get gold on everything. Then it gets hard. Razor Randezvous is an incredibly easy gold though.
This is definitely a game to get.

Okay... What does having it before me have to do with anything?
1. Uh... riiight. I`m about one of the most patient, sedate people out there, but anyway...
2. The game hasn`t taken me in at all (that`s a BAD thing). The game constantly reminds me that it IS a game with a shockingly flawed design brief by repeatedly throwing up the same annoying `bugs` and throwing me back to a restart screen every single time a mission fails because, for example, an AI controlled craft (sometimes as with the Falcon even one on my side) smacks right into you. Something I don`t recall ever happened in the movies either... or all that much in Rogue Squadron, which was great. And it`s certainly something that happens often enough to be truly frustrating.
3. I`m a bad loser when it`s down to things I have no control over due to poor design, yes. As for being a bad gamer, well, I`ll let the `Tester` portion of my C.V. speak for itself as to that...

Well, adds a little extra authenticity to the "yes, I do know what I`m talking about as it happens" flavour of the post, doesn`t it? ;)

I locked it because its ridiculous. We don't need a "hatred thread" appearing for every game in existance. Everybody is going to hate some game. Me, I hate the new PS2 Britney Spears Dance Video Game, I hate all the Pokemon games, I hate a lot of games that others like and yet I still don't complain about every one of them here.

I find the fact I can`t warn people off a technically flawed and overrated launch game without hassle slightly worrying to say the least... and anyone who didn`t get the joke-type subject heading...

open discussion about anything and before fuel started insulting me (grrr...:P) i was trying to say something alone the lines of that :D
Anyway back on topic
Where is everyone upto on Rogue? me, fuel and another friend got up to the one where you have to destroy the shields and control deck of an empire cruiser in a couple of hours :D i think we were going a little slow :P

sounds like someone just wants to complain about something thats out of our hands. Sure, you can warn people about a game, just don't make it sound like that. Argh, its hard to explain. Basically what I'm saying is we can't tell your tone of voice on a typed message. We can't tell what mood your in, all we have to go by is the mad looking smiley face on the front of this post. Ah nevermind anyway.
