Problem with Turok: Dinosaur hunter

Can someone please help me with this.

Every time I load my saved game it runs smooth for about a minute, until, all of the sudden, it completely freezes, yet the frame rate stays in the 60's.

I have about 6 gigs of ram, ATI radeon HD 4350 graphics card, and a AMD II X4 910 Processor.

It happens to this game the most. It rarely happens when I play Banjo-Tooie.

Any advise?

From the GameFAQ, although I'm not entirely sure if this applies to you:

Turok1: some users report "random but predictable lockups in Levels 3 through 8" (or similar). suggested workarounds are: changing CF to 1, walking through part of level looking down at ground.

What's CF?

And, there's no way to actually fix it? I just have to look down the entire time?

I'd suggest trying other emulators and saving using the in-game save points as regularly as you can. Only use the in-game cheats rather than Gameshark codes as well.

Tried both of those.

That it? Should I give up and skip to turok 2, or just play banjo tooie?

Nevermind it's working again. I changed the self control mod to Check Memory and Cache.
