I think i asked this before, but got no clear answer

I am developing a page, but wanna transfer teh page into phpNuke. Now, that isnt the problem. How do i simulate my computer to act as a web host? So i can run my page and all that. Or can i do absolutley everything from my desktop without having to go and simulate my pc into a web host?

get urself an apache http server from download.com - or for something a bit easier webweaver is pretty decent (*sucks* for ftp serving but the http server part is good :))
