great update, thanks for this !!!

This said, I encounter a lot of problems, Demul telling me that dc.zip couldn't be found etc... (but it still works). No such message in 0.5.2.
(of course path is properly configured)

Also, F355 is still unplayable, due to "backward effect" :)

Cheers

new info about some older bugs:

- newest release still has input lag. at first i thought it's related to the sound buffer and played around with it. then i disabled sound completely via the emulator, both didn't show any improvement.

- the timer bug works like this:
both character's idle animations (their breathing etc) overlap with the timer for some reason. if you push any button (make their sprite bigger, whatever), their side of the timer will overlap. so the bug is directly related to the character sprites / they way they are rendered etc.

this is rei's jumping qcb+HP. legs should be there, missing.

- screenshots for the transparency bug:

2. in game:

affects all characters. left all graphic options on default, didnt mess with shaders yet.

Thank you for your continuous great work with Demul!

Unfortunately, this version (0.5.3) can't properly play Propeller Arena. (Sorry for the alliteration, but I couldn't resist) ;-)

I unpacked it in a new directory (i.e., not over a previous version) and I didn't have any other problem: it doesn't complain about anything and it can boot the BIOS just like 0.5.2. But when I try to boot Propeller Arena, it shows the Dreamcast logo animation, the screen fades to white and it just sits there. The window title is "spg: 61 gpu: 0 ECHELON PROPELLER ARENA", and the spg number oscillates between 60 and 61. That's all... :-(

I even tried to use the gpuOglv3.dll from 0.5.2, but the result was just the same.

My computer specs, if this can help in any way:

NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT/PCI/SSE2
Windows XP SP 3
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6550 @ 2.33GHz
2.00 GB of RAM

demul 0.5.3 allows screensaver in fullscreen mode. probably not intended.
tested with DC & ikaruga.

Cloudius, I can't get the start button to work in NAOMI games on DEmul. Even though I assigned a key for player 1 start and have the input as Controller (i read that start doesn't work if keyboard is the controller option selected), it still doesn't work. What am I doing wrong? Are NAOMI games unplayable in Demul 0.5.3 and only attract mode is available for them? What plugins am I missing, if any?

Change the games to Freeplay mode and try again.

Is there a capcom code like there is for chankast because playing MVC2 is way too slow on demul

No.

Make sure that the CPU emulation is set to Dynarec.

I always have it on dynarec but that doesn't seem to help at all

Then you need to get a faster processor, or there is something else that hogs the processing power.

mvc2 is known to cause problems with all emulators. not his fault.
