Possible save state corruption?

Has anyone else experienced anything similar: pj64 1.4 and Zelda 2, randomly the display would black out but the game would not lock up. The sound would still respond to action but the video was black, windowed and full screen.
I accidentally saved it 2 sec before this would happen and it happens every time the state is loaded. Does anyone know if the save state is salvagable? :cool:

Isn't that the known "day transition" issue?

Probably. ry20, the problem is, when the day changes the screen will go black until all the chimes are done ringing. Just stand still till the clock strikes 12 and the "Dawn of the X day" message appears. No, this is not normal, but it doesn't hinder the gameplay too much.

I was not aware of that specific known issue and this will be the first time I have experienced it yet. But thanks and I will try to let it sit there for a while and see what happens.
