What are some good, free multitrack recording programs that are out?

Yeah I've googled it, and there are actually quite a bit, but I don't want to download them ALL, so I was wondering what people's opinions are..

Hi Bluesummers,

It depends on what you are going to use it for. If it is merely recording and don't want to do any complex-mixing then there are plenty of recording tools that will do just that. Cool-edit Pro is a good and easy to use program that supports multi-track recording.

But if you want complete freedom in recording mixing and just about everything you can do with audio then Cubase is the way to go. Cubase can be a pain to use at first, so don't try this if you're not going to use it frequently.

Greetings,

TRS

Tried Audacity yet?

Looking at the site, audacity does not support multitrack recording.

[EDIT]Oops, sorry it does support recording up to 16 tracks[/EDIT]

I have tried audacity before, but I didn't like it very much, right now I'm using Kristal, eventually I'll probably try Cubase.

Thanks you sirs.
