So I'm trying to play mario kart and use the ghost thing where you can race yourself and the game reminds me that there is no save pack in the controller. So I tested this by playing Perfect Dark and saving a custom play level things which I know for sure uses the save pack and it works perfectly. So what gives? Thanks.

While I'm asking questions, when I try to play Monopoly 64 the screen is squished to the top half. What is this?

For Mario Kart 64, note that you can only save 1 ghost per memory pack. If you have set up the Input plugin to use the memory pack, then perhaps the memory pack save has corrupted itself somehow. Delete MARIOKART64.mpk if that's the case, and another one will be generated.
As for Monopoly 64, update your RDB file first:

You could also try another graphics plugin. I would suggest trying Glide64HQ:
