From the official page (http://desmume.org/2008/04/22/desmume-08-released/):
We’re finally back! :)
This new release fixes a number of bugs in the emulation core.
The Mac port got a lot of new features, including sound,
preferences, screenshots and japanese translation.
The Windows port has some updates as well with a new core supporting joystick.
Get them here (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=164579&package_id=186413&release_id=594068).
Enjoy

What's the verdict on this? I haven't had a chance to test it out. I'm hoping someday, these emus can connect to a real DS so I can transfer Pokemon into my real cart instead of waiting forever to trade with someone.

There's always the pokesav tool to copy/clone your pokemon into .pkm files and allow trading with others who use an emulator etc :)

No$GBA is still the best, right?

I want them on my cart though. Plus, I can build my Pokemon specifically for myself that way.

Harsh words for someone who never tried to create a emulator or knows how hard it is to reverse engineer a console. Don't use it, if you don't like it, but no need to bash hard work!

Thanks, that's nice. As with pokemon, I'll also be sure to make all the possible efforts to avoid making that game compatible in the future, so you don't have to use desmume.

Do you know that the information you're giving is not enough to solve any problem? Do you think I can solve problems magically without any information? What OS are you using, what are your computer specs, what's the game status on the official compatibility list (http://desmume.org/compatibility-list/)?

WinXP SP2
AMD Athlon X2 2Ghz
2 GB RAM
ATI Radeon X1550 1024MB
and yes Kirby Canvas Curse (US) works in accordance to the Compatability List

No Wifi, but no DS emulator has that yet.
It has better sound than No$GBA, but in 3D games, DeSmuMe lags like hell. No$GBA is the best if you are going for actual gameplay, but it still is nice to see DeSmuMe is updating, they'll catch up to the breadwinners eventually.

Yeah, with the rate NO$GBA's been updating lately, it's possible that some other emulator could end up overtaking it in terms of overall quality...unlikely, but entirely possible.

Well NO$GBA runs Zelda pretty darn well but if DeSmuME can hit up stability, video, and sound in one fell swoop then yeah they could quickly surpass NO$GBA
Especially if they get certain games working:bouncy: *coughwar40kcough*

Well, you obviously don't know how to joke. Saying something which is product from many hours and many uninterested developers sucks is not fun, by any definition of the word.

I doubt the developers of DeSmuMe are UNINTERESTED. But, nonetheless, I always love to see progress.

I'm one of the main developers of desmume, and we are not interested of any type of benefit besides doing an emulator, you can think whatever what you want, but that's a fact.

It should work perfectly with clean dumps on your PC configuration, afaik. That's as much as I can tell as of now.

Defining perfect as "slow and choppy" these days, are we? A dump I made of Phantom Hourglass works just as slow as a version I got off the net.

I couldn't care less about your opinion. Talking about how you pirate DS games doesn't make things better.
I meant that it should work on his PC without problems, I never talked about speed. If you don't want to use DeSmuME, it's OK, but keep your irony for yourself, as is something not wanted: we work for free and don't deserve this type of comments, so keep them for yourself.
