Z-Net is an mIRC script that connects netplay-enabled emulators, to help you find and set up online games with other people. Currently, only the Super Nintendo emulator ZSNES is supported, but with Z-Net's addon system, support for other emulators can be easily added later. Z-Net is still in the beta phase, so you may encounter some bugs here and there, and there may not always be someone active in the room, but the script is fully functional and still very intuitive.
Should you experience any problems, there is an install guide on the main page, and the room has friendly users that would be more than willing to help you with your problems. So be sure to drop by and check us out!

is this like an alternative to kaillera?

No, not really.
With Kaillera, the game data must first go to the server, and then back to the players, creating lag. However, with Z-Net, it is direct connect, so the connection is as fast as it can be.

I am not the author of the script, so I wouldn't be able to tell you that. Sorry :(

Don't mean to resurrect a dead topic, but a new Z-Net version has been released, which includes plug-ins for NES and N64 emulators. Come check us out if you already haven't!

Dood this is so wicked. I didn't know about this! I'm really glad you bumped it and mentioned the n64 support. This is huge!

Hey, hate to rain on your parade, but the creator of the script has (seemingly) abandoned the project. However, there is an alternative called CGA, which is made by the creator of Supraclient, Suprafast. You can find it here:

Well I take it all back. How about updating the links? Don't click them unless you want pop up hell. VERY hard to google anything and find results on this. Hello?

GEMaster, the website is hosted on DarkAkuma's server, so I can't really do anything about the web page. I've been asking him about getting the latest installer (I deleted it long ago, sadly) over IRC and maybe putting it up for anyone who wanted to use it independently.

I've had a bit of corresponce with DarkAkuma so I'm very pleased. I do think that the N64 scene is in desperate need of this project. Mupen64k opened up n64 emulation (good luck convincing the pj64k users) to online gameplay. From the things I've read on z-net, I hope that I can help it get back. Like I've said, I was a little late getting to this party.
