Cheat Adding (I need help!)

I try to add cheats like color codes (for SM64) and stuff but it will not let me! I go to system>cheats then i right click but nothing pops up! not even a little white box that gives u a bunch of options!

ps: I am using pj64 1.6

i had to uncheck advanced things (or whatever)
