Can't adjust rumble strength?

My Rumble Pak doesn't vibrate when plugged in. I'm using a XK-PC2004 adaptor (for N64 and Playstation controllers) with NRage's Direct Input plugin. In the configuration settings, I selected "Rumble Pak" and "Raw Data" in the Controller Pak tab, but for some reason the "Rumble" option under the Device tab (including the Rumble Strength slider) remain faded out and can't be altered. What am I doing wrong?

IDK much about things like this, but if you are using something that allows you to hook an N64 controller to a PC then maybe you should try an adaptoid input plugin thing

Rumble only works if there is a forcefeedback compatible driver installed
