You have tranparency issues with the hp bar. Its low res. And its a just a photo you took from the internet. Retexturing requires alot of time. Sit down, relax and create art. Dont rush things and create your own textures. Plus, you should not post any thread or pics of what you have done if you only retextured one texture.
Its good to know you are exited about it, but if you want others to be excited about your pack, then consider practicing first.

ms paint will get you no where. If you cant afford photoshop, then go for gimp. Take some time to learn the program you will be using and then come back here and start a practice pack.

Or, you may want to try out Paint.NET (http://www.getpaint.net). It is much easier to use than the GIMP in many ways (but nowhere near as powerful).

How did you change the colors of Mario's clothes? I didn't realize that was a texture. Is it also possible to change his skin tone?

His clothes are textures. You don't need a code to modify them

wrong they are textures.
If you look in the textures folder (when dumped) i cant remember the name of the texture but once you replace that with your own you can change the color of the clothes.
I know this because about 2 years ago i released a texture pack for super mario 64 and i colored his clothes green. (i think it was green anyway, may have been white and red)
I will gladly change his clothes colors by replacing/modifying the texture if you don't believe me. Your going to have to wait for about 1-2 hours after this post for me to do that though as im having pc issues at the minute.

I am currently working on a SM64 pack, and I can say with no reservations, that there are no textures for Mario's clothes other than the white circle and the m for his hat, and the buttons for his overalls.

Don't you understand, mudlord? Every time we post a message in this thread that doesn't directly pertain to magikoopa101's textures, one of the textures in his pack gets deleted off his hard drive. And from the number of screenshots he's posted showing off all of his fabulous work, I'd guess there aren't too many textures to spare.
EDIT: Happy EmuTalk-joining anniversary too, mudlord - even if it is a couple weeks late. :P

I'm certain that his clothes are a basic shade, aside from the button texture. It would take more that 4 lines of Gameshark code to change a texture in RAM, you know. The texture has never been found, and if there is such a texture, VL-Tone would've discovered it by now. When you edit Mario's clothes colors with Gameshark, there are 2 different colors you can modify- the basic color and the shade. The Gameshark lines that change Mario's clothes go by RGB hex values, proving that his clothes are indeed, a shade.

Hello, it is just technically impossible to use MS Paint to retexture. MS Paint does not support alpha PNGs, which is used for almost all textures.
Paint Shop Pro is very VERY good at compressing PNG images (the file sizes are extremely tiny), but the compatibility is low (in Internet Explorer images are the wrong tone, and alpha PNGs don't work with Rice at all).
Photoshop *works* at making PNG images but the file sizes are VERY large (we're talking about 4kb+ for each image which can add up quickly).
It's best to use Paint .NET or The GIMP (copy image from your own graphics editor like PSP and paste into Paint .NET or Gimp), or if it's possible use the latest png lib yourself.

Mario's clothes are colored polygons. The eyes, mustache, sideburns, M patch, and yellow buttons are textures, but other than that, its all colored polygons. Trust me, I'd know.

I knew it. The clothes are one solid color, without any depth or "literally" texture on them.
