This Project is Closed on EMUTALK

Updates on the project:
August 30th- Due to constant bombardment of negative comments from the other Zelda retextures, I've decided to leave emutalk and continue the project else where. I'm tired of constantly defending myself from people who can't support or accept others might be better at it then them. So as it comes down to it, I'm bidding farewell to emutalk. I apologize to those who did support the project. I'm not the one to blame for this decision, blame the jealousy which has taken over those who can't learn to accept and support a project.
I wish you all good luck with your projects, Good Bye everyone!

Thank you! That's who I was aiming for with her, Cause Telma just rox. I might have to resize her eyes though, cause they seem a little too big. But beside that, she looks pretty good.

O_o?
You can rip the textures from TP? O___o?
Then why am I doing this project if someone could just rip textures from TP and get the exact textures?!?!?

EDIT: Actually I'll take that as compliment, Cause I seriously didn't rip any textures from TP. I really don't know how's that possible to begin with, but I will tell you I'm a perfectionist when it does come to making these textures and I do have a lot of, I mean Over 500 Screenshots of TP alone. .___.;;;

Models too. How do you think i got this avatar?

Most of the character textures and models are floating around out there (except the MASTER SWORD, holy hell I need that model for an art piece i wanna do, and i may just end up making one from scratch).

Wow that is crazy, Talk about the extremes people go to. O_O;;;;
I seriously didn't think there was a way to get anything from TP for the fact of the
GC Disc isn't read in normal CD Drives. That's crazy...Wow...Talk about blown away and Nice Avatar by the way.

 look, as mdta showed us, a project cannot be completed by one person if not worked on 24-7. i showed you those TO WORK OFF! they are the wrong shape and size to load into zelda oot, i just thought that your eyebrows where a bit too angry, and every body is doing red and silver belts, if you wanna go tp you got to look at any object that might come up in the game for DESIGN means only. i see your work is very foresty, so the alot of greens are fantstic for what we need, and if your as low as to not even think of accepting help, i pity you.

I use Paint Shop Pro 9 for most of my work, But for some reason you can only work on the RGB textures(the flat background ones) for some weird reason, but having photoshop to load up any texture that has a raster background from PSP and saved it, will allow you to make All and RGBA textures.

Zeth Alkar
August 9th, 2007, 20:02
I didn't work on this Project to be accused, If you want me to continue on this project then I suggest everyone keep their mouth shut about Stupid Opinions. As I sated no Negative comments about this project, but that's all I've been getting since I started this forum(some good ones, which I appreciate). I'm starting to get annoyed about people wanting to blame me cause they look similar(KEY WORD SIMILAR).

I am a perfectionist when it comes to this, I want it to resemble as close to the real thing, I use my TP game as a big reference, along with a lot of screenshots. It will come down to this, if I hear any more about people saying I stole these textures. Then this project will be officially closed to the public. I didn't come and join on this forum to be harassed by a bunch of people.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but it is the truth. I will not post a project if people are going to accuse me of stealing textures. That has been the reason I've been postponing releasing the first pack. Cause pretty much, I'm done with over 50% of the game.

If you look in the name of the textures, for example link's mouth. You can find it at the end of the texture, I also believe there is a tutorial on how to retexture.

I think they're perfect. This is the best Zelda texture pack so far.

Zeth, please complete this. When people update my old favorites, (which is such a cool idea by the way it's almost like a remastered movie), they never finish, ever. They're enthusiastic about it and about half way they lose interest or they're too busy. Another big reason - There's an update coming to the program that's going to be way better (which never comes out, and when it does the texture artist will lose interest by that time). Or they've found a way to make the textures look better in some way so they start from the very beginning and never finish it. People would be much happier with a finished project than two incomplete ones.

I'm not an impatient person, but since this texturing plug-in was implemented (which was...2004 maybe? 2005?) no one has finished a real high res Zelda pack. The only one I've ever seen completed was a cell shaded one which to be honest I don't really like. I mean if other people do then great, but I like my Zelda to be darker...more realistic...not so cartoony.

It's not that I'm ungrateful, it's just I wish someone would complete their work when it comes to this kind of project.

Anyway, Zeth you are a very talented artist and it's very cool of you to do something for people without necessarily getting anything out of it.

And to KMan and everyone else, please lay off his back. He did not take textures from Twilight Princess. And even if he did, who cares? Do you think Nintendo is going to shut this site down or su someone because a small community is updating an old game? It seems they would have done that already if they cared.

If I was ever to be convinced that these textures aren't being completely ripped off, then I'm gonna need some proof. Post up the new texture that was made for the truth stone.

And take off the ui circles. I made them for Federelli's pack originally, and don't recall ever giving anyone else permission to use it or any other texture I made in their own projects.

You're really upset about this. I just don't understand. But that's just me.

From the screenshots that I saw, it looked like they are using ripped textures for most of their work. I look down on those that steal other peoples work and claim it as their own. It is totally misrepresentative of the work that they are capable of, and sends the wrong message out to people. It's also illegal. It may not lead to them personally getting sued, as that can take too much time, and would be a hassle. What can happen is that they'll contact the company that provides the hosting for these forums, and have them shut down. I'm sure a bunch of you would be upset at that. You would have to go elsewhere to find downloads to satisfy your wants.

I have no problems about being wrong about this instance, but until I get proved otherwise, then I am compelled to bring this up. Stealing is bad, m'key?

If this project gets killed because of XenoBond then he's doing this to his own forums.................................. ...

Now, I am very interested in this project. Good work so far! Some things seem a bit messy but I'm sure at the end you'll be able to clean things up a bit.

Indeed, please, let's keep this ontopic, or, as already said, this might end like mdta's community thread.

Great update Zeth, I'll be looking foward to more jaw-dropping screens ^^

Firstly, My Title Screen work is up in the original thread.

Also, some of the changes are not right or good for the game...

- A stone bridge now is wooden, but the sound effect for the footsteps will still be stone.

- The castle is that from Twilight Princess, but when you go there, it will look totally different. This is not good for the game!!

- The Location names look unreadable

- The HUD so far is not sympathetic to the originals, and don't look good (except the magic meter, thats nice)

- The Music box is very blurry

- A lot of the textures are very dark, but this may just be the area captured in the screenshot

- Some of the textures look too good to be created from scratch. If you havn't ripped textures from the game, you have taken screenshots or print screens from the model viewer and have used them. The walls in Hyrule Field for example. But more so, they don't fit completely with Hyrule Field, perhaps colour correct these to more browner shades, than the stone grey.

If you are not happy with criticism, then why not avoid the forums, and only post when the project is 100% complete.

The whole point in posting progress here, is surely to get feedback, so you can go back and make corrections and changes so the final product is the best it can be.

Your hostile attitude will bite you on the arse in the end, and talented people who could help you, will not contact you.

As for a matter of fact, Aren't you the one who abandoned the project before it even started?! I'm not going to change things because they don't meet to your standards.

As for the wooden bridge, If you remember in Zelda TP, you cross a wooden bridge just before you go to Kakariko Village, that's where I got the idea, As for the sound effect, Already taken care of, with some editing, I've already prepared a patch for it so it will make it sound like wood when link walks on it.

Ever since I posted in these forums, I've received Criticism since Day 1. Your project would have died because of me. All I wanted to do was contribute the Zelda Community. I was asked on several accounts to start my own thread taking the project into my own hands, which I have done. I've received some support, but because Jealousy has stricken some of the Zelda Retexturers, I'm constantly accused of Stealing textures and be bombarded with negative comments. Which discourages retextures, like me, I can see some criticism, but it has went overboard.

By the way, A good piece of information just to bite you in the arse, I have a associate's degree in Graphic design, and a bachelor's degree in Gaming Programming and Simulation, so that might has something to do with my outstanding abilities.

For the fact of what has happened here, This project, Is going to continue, but not on emutalk. And for the record, I'm leaving Emutalk. Go for it now Mdtauk, you can retexture it the way you want with all your little jealous buddies. I have nothing to do with this project, at least in these forums anymore.

Im 100% with you Zeth.

Did you guys ever think, what if? What if Zeth did make those textures? What if he is telling the truth? See, thats where you guys went wrong. The problem with you guys (not everyone, there are alot of supporters) is that you guys think you are the best. You guys dont want to accept the fact that maybe there is someone better than you. Im glad zeth has discontinued this project on emutalk.

Nah, we dont want your title screen.

Sorry you feel offended, and I am sorry you have no understanding of "CONSTRUCTIVE" Criticism.

I did not rubbish your work, only offered some advice about how you could fix mistakes and improve the work.

Well if you do leave emutalk and move to another place, as long as the public can post about it, you will get some criticism.

If you just want praise, then give it to yourself in a mirror, or ask your family to praise it. Just because you are happy with it, doesn't mean the rest of the universe will agree.

The sooner you learn that, the sooner you can live a fulfilled life, and then enter society.

@squall_leonhart: Hi, I'm Malcolm and even though I haven't been around the emulation scene for a few years I'm still more important then you. Do me a favor: Take your penis, put it between a door and slam that door at full force; if you've followed those simple instructions I doubt you'll be writing back anytime soon because you'll be on your knees crying like a little baby - enjoy!

@Zeth Alkar: If you're still reading this thread, which I doubt you are, if you ever start a project where one of the same type exists you're going to get accusations of copying. There maybe threats and slander tossed about but that isn't what you should be concerned with, your focus should be on enjoying the progression through the project. If someone claims you're directly copying work - good for them, let them do a bit for bit check on the image files after you've released so they can quell their concerns.

@Others reporting infringement: Reporting infringement of work should not take place on an open forum, you should be contacting the person directly through forum PMs or emails. By putting these accusations in an open forum you are not aiding your case by trying to gain public support you are only diluting it with responses from the likes of 'squall_leonhart' above. Also, by making your case in private you don't run the risk of derailing a genuine project, which seems to be the case here.

My semi-amazing post here is all thanks to the person who reported this thread and Cyberman for posting concerns in the moderation forums - without those 2 triggers I would not have realized that stupid fuckers like squall_leonhart need to be put in their place.

Also note Mr. squall_leonhart, I have full authority to ban your account, email address and IP range form accessing this _SERVER_. If you would ever like to reach any of the content from any of the sites hosted on the Emulation64.com domain, these are all the magical sites from the 'Network Sites' drop down dialog at the top of this web page, I would suggest you either not respond to this thread or respond with an apology to the people you have offended. Also, to make my morning coffee more fun, I believe I'm going to monitor your posts from this day forward to make sure you aren't a jackass in future threads.

i respect your place as a staff member here, but i will not be forced to apologise to "These People" after they have so treated people recently... that being said its not the first time they have done so, and lastly, i have also been attacked by people in this thread at some time or another, that being said, they are owed nothing. if they feel insulted, then that is little as to how they have made Zeth feel.

the only person i will apologise to here is mdtauk, the other 2 deserve none.
i only hope Zeth can see himself returning at some point, for i could see his project had promise, and where you all saw texture copying, others did not, especially when comparing the textures closely.

lastly, if you wish people to behave here, do so yourself, staff or not, you are NOT above the rules, no matter how much you think you are, you may try to imagine there is one set of rules for you and another for others, but this just further distances the people from the staff and this is where the lines of reality blur.
i will edit out my flammatory posts, and that is all, xenobond and cooliscool deserve no better.

that being said, i should be reporting you for calling me a fucker, where as i have not even gone into using such language.

What kind of moderator are you? Seriously. Squall does not need to apologize to anyone. Reading this thread, he has not done anything wrong but try to keep this thread alive her on emutalk. As I see it, you should thank squall.

Dude, like I said, what kind of moderator are you? You are suppose to solve problems, not fucking talk shit. You need to learn manners.

Or do you want me to slam my penis is not door too?

Trust me, the new location for this project is the best thing that ever happened to this project. Plus, thier are lots of great feedback on the new location of the project.
