Ive seen this error mentioned in another thread, and its the same one i get. It was never really explained, or at least from what i found via search.
here's a pic of the error window:

i saw someone say that you 'need a pixel shader cart', whatever that means. I assume he meant 'card.'

I dont think my card supports pixel shading. I run a GeForce MX 4000 128 mb card that's pci based (not express, just normal pci).

I can run n64 emulations just fine on Project 64.

is there some way that i can fix this? or, is there an alternative plugin i can download for Pj64 instead? that works?

any help much appreciated.

GeForce 4000 MX? Are you sure?

If that's what I think it is, that card is crazy old. You may want to consider upgrading to something newer.

Yeah, GeForce 4 4MX's don't support shaders.

Best bet is to upgrade at least to a GeForce FX or ATI Radeon 9600 or up.

You must get at least a GeForce 4 Ti or at least a Radeon 8500 for pixel shader 1x
and at least a GeForce FX5200 or a Radeon 9500 for pixel shader 2.0!
