Majoras' Mask flame effect problem.

I get a few problems in Majoras' Mask concerning flame effect sprites. They appear as normal, except have a semi transparent, encompassing border around the effect, taking the color of the flame itself.

And ideas on how to solve this? Using Jabos' Direct3D6 1.6 solves this, but then the ground in alot of places goes black.

So I've toned down the plugin to Jabos' Direct3D6 1.5.2, to eliminate one of the problems. How do I fix the other?
