help picking a emulator

The Crackling is in Every emus except Nemu. Get 1964, Most say it is the fastest emu around.

You could also try an HLE sound plugin (Azimer's) with PJ64. Make sure you enable HLE in the RSP configuration.

I use PJ64 and 1964 they both are fast 1964 being the fastest of the 2 and pj64 beign just beign realy, they both are great i use pj64 the most and only use 1964 for playing 1080 and 007 as they run better on 1964 for me. but go with what works best for you i mean some people use UltraHLE god is that old and is best for 3DFX cards not Geforce cards.

I suggest using 1964 because it is the fastest one. On my system (Celeron 700, Geforce 2 MX) I get full speeds most of the time.
