On 1024x768 normal, I can get about 500 FPS in MK64, but when I play it in 1024x768 full screen, my FPS gets about halved! How can I prevent this happening?
My specs:
E6600
8800GTX
2GB of RAM
Also, I discovered that the "copy framebuffer to RDRAM" option is not based on the bandwith of the port (AGP, PCI-E, IGP), but on the bandwith of the card itself, instead.
For example, in MK64, with my 7600GS PCI-E, I get around 30-35FPS, and with my 8800GTX, I get around 50-60 FPS. This is because of the 12GB/s bandwith vs the 86GB/s memory bandwith.

You get 500 fps and then you complain that the speed gets halved? If I were you, I'd be very happy with just 60 fps, which is what the 'Limit FPS' option should give you.

1024x768 for such graphics card? O.o

Some people prefer lower resolutions, even though their card can easily handle higher ones, you know. It's not that uncommon.

I agree, I stick to 1024x768 myself. As for the speed... yeah, I'd kill for a constant frame rate for games like MK and Golden Eye. :P

thats kind of stupid actually, as the G80 series is faster at higher resolutions, then it is at lower resolutions.

I actually like 1024x768 well on my computer when on the desktop. But whenever I play full-screen games it would be nice to play it at something like 1280x1024 or higher but my damn monitor only goes up to 1024x768 :ranting:. Lol, worst monitor ever.

the problem is, that when I go to full screen mode, my FPS drop alot.
But when I go to the same resolution on windowed mode, my FPS doesn't change.
Is there any way to fix this?
Btw, teh monitor was temporarily, I now have a 1440x900 LCD :P

Fullscreen framebuffer is alot slower then window based,.. not sure why... probably becoz of the way rendering is managed.. hmm
