Unless it's for personal use only IE an avatar or you wanted to fight clouds in Q3 or something weird. I don't recomend this. It's illegal to distribute copyrighted material this includes material IN or FROM a game. Square and most other game companies I can think of copyright ALL parts of there game, not just the game code and engine, they copyright all the data as well.
So unless it's specifically never going to leave your computer, what do you want this for?
Now to answer the question asked, yes it's possible, anything is possible really, but yes it is possible and doable. It's not going to be easy though (Actually it is kind of hard to do since you can't extract it directly without using a number of tools to find it).

I plan to use it for a avatar/animated flash template.
I have done this for a GBA sprite (example: Spyro The Dragon Forum :: Index <On my avatar. my username is spyrorocks)
I have managed to rip 3ds max modles from gamecube games, but i am having trouble with DS.
