Hello, I am a new user to Dolphin and I am experiencing trouble with the my emulation.
(My graphics card is an ATI Radeon 9800 PRO, pretty new)
Whenever I run "Wind waker" (only .gcm I have) the frames persecond is around 2 to 1- thats bad.
what should I do?
thanks

I hate questions like that!
If you really want a answer? You should lern first how to search problems! Dude you are the 12231 millionst who ask this!
First you should read the FAQ (http://www.emutalk.net/dolphin/18442-rules-forum-faq-read-before-posting.html) or search for "slow" or "how make faster" ....
uhm... i really dont want to talk bad about newbies but this simple way is even for newbies possible

You can stop trying to get it to run at playable speeds. Your computer isn't up to the task.

I am sorry, please bear with me for I am a "noob" when it comes to emulation ;) ah you guys and you internet lingo.
I can actually relate to this situation- in fact I am a Flash developer and I recieve many foolish questions, however I take heart and try my best to answer the question even if it is ignorant.

Oh really? well, I seem to have no problem playing CS:S, Halo, FEAR, Tribes Vengeance, the list goes on and on. However, you should get the point; My PC is pretty much "maxed-out" for the moment :)

Comparing PC game and emulated games is like comparing apples and oranges. Your computer isn't fast enough.

What do I need to buy to make my computer work with a game cube emulator? How is it possible that it could be graphically heavier than a PS2 emulator (and how is it possible that my systems ram has no impact on an emulator, besides "graphics plug-in"s- which whould make you wrong, because you said it was too much for MY system.)
Do I need more ram? I already have a Gig stick (+300gb HD) what else could I possibly need?
By the way, I built my PC; Installing new hardware shouldn't be a problem.

You need to travel to the future and get one of the 10GHz Core 64 Trio processors that Intel will invent in a decade or two. At present, the only consumer-level machine capable of running Gamecube games at playable speeds, aside from a Gamecube, is a Wii.

Never mind!~
I see, in the FAQ, that the Game Cube is a very advanced system (pfft.)
and that buying RAM won't save me.
This only brings up more questions:
- why would windwaker be on the computability list as "working"
- whould someone as god-like (pfft, again) as Agozer be able to run this? if so, how? plug-ins?

Oh sure, I can run it, but speed leaves much to be desired.
Basically, you (and everybody else) need a faster processor. Having lots of RAM or a really fast video card doesn't really make it any faster. Emulation is very CPU-bound, and at best the emulator takes advantage of the video card's pixel shader support and other graphical functions.

Anything that doesn't crash the emulator or blow up your computer can be defined as "working." Doesn't mean it'll work at playable speed though.

Bust-A-Move 3000 has been known to run at playable speeds, as well as a handful of other games that don't have 3D graphics.
