Editing Music In Games

I recently downloaded the ISO for CvS2 where a guy had modified the music for the game.

I've been wanting to make an edited version too using more personalised music from my library but I'm pretty much at a loss at the moment on what software is involved and how I go about editing the music.

Does anyone have any insight into this or any guides on the www which may point me in the right direction and such?

Thanks dude I'll have a look and see what I can find. I did a search in yahoo and came to dead ends. Seems the only guides I could find referred to MvC2 and even after trying the same method stated in those guides I hit a brick wall at certain bits.
