Hello everyone and sorry because the question might sound noobish but i am really new to the whole thing.
Anyway i am downloading naruto clash of ninja (not sure if it is in gcm or iso)
It is in 6 files and the whole size is about 300mb.What i want to ask is how will i open the iso or gcm if it is not 1 file but 6...(all 6 files are in .rar now that i download them)Is there a problem with the file or is there a way to make it one file and use it?Also the size of the whole file is a little small i think :(
Edit:Ok i did sorry about it can you plz help me now?

first, it's split in more parts.Extract the rar file and you should extract a gcm or another rar.If so, then extract the rar and then you should get a gcm or iso.
Now set up dolphin and start the emulation but you will need to enable dynarec to get a barely playble speed(man this speed gives me headeaches).

Google search for "RAR." It's a file format, similar to ZIP, but way better. Mouser X out.

First thx very very much for the help
Second how can i configure the buttons?
I don't know which is the A button wich ask me to press at the start with the memory lol
Wait i found that button A is A in keyboard but even if i press it nothing changes in the game but i don't think it has stuck because the frames below move continiously...

The only way to make it work faster is to wait untill Gekko will be released :).
This is the only method or get a PC that is better that sercios's :P i guess he gets great fps in this game

Kakashi13
August 29th, 2006, 22:48
Sorry but what exactly is Gekko?

Agozer
August 29th, 2006, 22:54
An upcoming GameCube emulator to my knowledge.

We have a winner

Kakashi13
August 29th, 2006, 23:01
If i try to shrink the file?will it run faster?i think i read this somewhere in the other older topics about naruto games here...(what makes you think that the new emulator will be better than this one?)

Cobrax1884
August 29th, 2006, 23:04
Well, from what i read, and from what i saw and from what was said to me i think that gekko will kick dolphin's A$$ :) and no, i don't think that if you will shrink it it will run faster

Sercio
August 29th, 2006, 23:08
Even on my system Dolphin "sucks" !
I get only ~ 15-20 Fps.... (differend each game)
*only with dynarec option and tick modifer 1 but ingame!

Cobrax1884
August 29th, 2006, 23:09
never mind

Cobrax1884
August 29th, 2006, 23:10
a big lol for you, heh, it "sucks" dude, i wish i could play GC games on pc with that speed i'd play sa2b all day long

Kakashi13
August 29th, 2006, 23:27
I could play naruto all day too if the speed was normal but we must not be thankless in other consules like ps2 and xbox the emulators are much more behind than dolphin is for gc!So we put all our hopes for regular play in the other emulator but you don't know maybe dolphin's next version is better that the other who knows...
And something else Sercio i don't think you can complain when you get 15-20 fps when i for example have 2-5!

Sercio
August 29th, 2006, 23:54

Kakashi13
August 30th, 2006, 00:01
lol ok you don't have to get upset nor to show us your system :P we can see that you have a top system by ourselves ;)
Anyway there was no offence man :) after all we all want to play games at regular speed nothing else.

Cobrax1884 - is there any chance you might alter your signature to make it occupy less space, and also use the edit function, rather than double-posting? Not trying to nitpick, but I've done a whole lot of unnecessary scrolling on this thread.

To build on the conversation, Gekko is probably the most actively developed GC emulator right now and it shows great promise, but don't expect miracles. Dolphin may not be perfect, but it certainly wasn't written overnight and writing an emulator to match, let alone exceed, its limited performance and compatibility is not a trivial matter. Don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to say Gekko's developers can't do better than the current Dolphin release; it's just a fact that emulators are very difficult, time-consuming programs to write, particularly when the emulated platform is as complex and powerful as a Gamecube. That said, I think there's plenty of room now for some pleasant surprises.

Kakashi13
August 30th, 2006, 12:39
Well the only thing we can do now is either wait for gekko or cheer the programers of Dolphin who knows maybe the next version of Dolphin can make the miracle we are waiting :)

Cobrax1884
August 30th, 2006, 18:48
Ok, the, i'l do domething bout my siggy and yes it's verry hard to make/code etc an emu.
I think that it will kick dolphin's A$$ even though this is the best GC emu but soon enough "is" gon' be "was" :naughty:

Kakashi13
August 30th, 2006, 22:28
Well we all hope this but as for me i must congratulate the dolphin team for their awesome work!
And something else if anyone finds a way to speed up the framerate even by a little i beg him to post here to let us know too plz...

Oh there are many ways to boost the FPS, such as dual core support, better instruction set support, and HLE. But you know the dolphin coders, they keep it under wraps, and they also have a life.

Kakashi13
August 31st, 2006, 13:30
Yes i understand that.
About dual core support i am afraid i can't do something like this now but about the instruction set and the HLE can you explain plz?

How would you extract the files if they didn't come in rar files. Say for instance they came without any compression and they were file types with .001 and so on. What do you need to extract them?

Agozer
August 31st, 2006, 23:23
Those files are still split RAR archives. Just open the .001 with WinRAR and extract.

HiReZ92
August 31st, 2006, 23:47
I'm almost there but what action in Winrar do you take exactly when you right click the file? That's where I'm having trouble.

Mouser X
September 1st, 2006, 00:05
If the files don't open in WinRAR when you double-click it, then open WinRAR, and drag+drop the .001 file onto WinRAR's titlebar. WinRAR should open the file then. Once open, simply hit the big "extract" button at the top. It should ask you where you want to extract it to. Hope that helps. Mouser X over and out.

I have a big problem with some games.
I download the games and i try to open them with winrar but it always says the file is either uknown format or damaged!i downloaded the naruto 4 and a file with the ohter 3 and they all got problem i just can't believe all of them are damaged is there any other way to open the files or something?plz help...

What's the extension on the files you're opening, and what size are they, and are you sure you got the whole thing? Often images are distributed in multiple pieces. If you don't download ALL of the pieces, then the image will be corrupt, and broken. Anyway, those first two things I asked would be helpful. What's the extension, and the filesize. Also, how many files does the archive consist of? Mouser X over.

Kakashi13
September 1st, 2006, 14:16
The first naruto 4 is 1,4Gb and the other are 1,3Gb(206mb the first 530 the second and 700mb the third)they are both rar files.
Naruto 4 is one file
And the others are 4 files(they have a document about the creators or something in spanish i think)they are compressed twice each one of them.I think their size is ok because i downloaded before naruto 1 and it was compressed the same size as naruto 1 from the file with the other two...

Mouser X
September 1st, 2006, 20:11
If the Naruto you're refering to is "Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4" then the entire image, even when compressed, should be quite a bit over 511 megabytes. The audio files of that game, when compressed, are 511 MB, so I'm sure the full game + the audio files would be noticeably larger than that. I honestly don't quite understand what you've told me in that post above this one, but it sounds to me like you should look for the game images elsewhere. Unless I misunderstood you, it sounds like you might not have downloaded the entire image, and are therefore missing pieces. If my understanding there is incorrect, I appoligize. Sorry I can't be of more help. Mouser X over.

Um, agozer, i've posted in a thread that 001 files DON'T open in winrar.Open them in 001 joiner.
That should do it

Lightning

Actually, 001 could open in Winrar. It depends on what compressed it. Winrar will name files r?? or ??? based on the number of files and the specified extention. However, other compression utils also use a 3 digit number too (arj for instance). As a result, it becomes a guessing game as to what to use if there is no base file to open besides the 001.

Except that ARJs, ACEs and other older compression formats are almost extinct as far as compressed CD images (or actually most compressed formats these days) are concerned.

ZIP, RAR, LHZ and 7-ZIP dominate.

MouserX thanks for the help and i apologize for my english i know they suck :(
Anyway i am downloading the game from another torrent and i hope it works...
It's 1,2GB in 27 files...

Mouser X
September 1st, 2006, 23:32
Yes, that sounds much more reliable. I don't have the game myself, but I do know where to download its audio files (straight from the GCM. I know the guy who uploaded the audio files). That's why I pointed out the size of the audio. Good luck, and hopefully it works for you this time. Mouser X over and out.

Every file that ends its extension with .001 and up has worked in either WinRAR, or 7zip entirely just fine for me. I've never had any issues, at all, whatsoever. As such, I see no reason to get another utility. WinRAR should, and almost always has, work(ed) fine. If for some strange reason it doesn't, get 7zip. There's no reason to have a progrom that does only 1 thing, when you can get another program that does that function, plus tons more. Mouser X over and out.

Kakashi13
September 2nd, 2006, 20:12
Well i tried winrar and 7zip and i must say that 7zip packs the files in much lower size than winrar but winrar can open almost every compressed file...

Oh and kakashi, you're english is not bad at all.
Arigato(thanks in Japanese lol,i have seen so much jap anime with naruto first, that i know some words :P)

Fix your settings in WinRAR. Even on WAV files, when I use the best possible settings in WinRAR, the difference between a 7z file and a RAR file is a few megabytes. On a (once compressed) 300mb RAR file, the same files (completely the same, no differences at all) in a 7z were 297-298mb. So, you just need to get WinRAR to be more efficient. Also, in most cases that I've seen, WinRAR will compress (and often extract) files faster than 7zip does.

To optimize settings in WinRAR, make sure you're using "Best" for compression, and that you enable "solid archiving." Solid archiving will make it so that any data that is shared among files will be counted only once. ZIP doesn't do this, but 7zip does (by default) which is probably why you're seeing big differences between RAR and 7z. Hope that helps. Mouser X over and out.
